Model S and Model X on Tesla referral pages: when each country dropped them, and what's left

Tesla stopped building both cars in May 2026. The referral pages dropped them on different dates, and a few still list them. Here's the record, country by country, and how to tell whether anything is behind a card.

Countries
Checked: US, Canada, UK, Germany, Taiwan, South Korea

What changed

Model S and Model X left Tesla's US referral page between the Mar 1 and Apr 1, 2026 copies, Canada's by Mar 10, and the UK and German pages on Jun 16. Tesla built its last ones at Fremont around May 9–10, 2026, according to Jalopnik; since then only leftover inventory exists. Most referral pages we checked dropped both cars, but Taiwan's still showed an NT$8,000 benefit on them in a Jul 10, 2026 copy, and Korea's lists them under a notice that referral benefits ended in 2025.

How production ended

Two things happened in 2026, and they're easy to mix up: Tesla removed the cars from its referral pages, country by country, and Tesla stopped building them. This page dates both. Three public statements frame the end of production:

The exact last day isn't public. Jalopnik's May 15 report said “last weekend”, which puts it around May 9–10. We print that window, not a single day.

What each country's referral page did

A referral page is a separate page from the order pages, and Tesla updates each country's copy on its own schedule. Here's what dated Internet Archive copies of Tesla's referral pages show for Model S and Model X:

United States: gone between Mar 1 and Apr 1, 2026

On the Mar 1, 2026 copy of Tesla's US referral page, Model S, Model X and Cybertruck each showed “$1,000 Off”. On the Apr 1 copy, Model S and Model X were gone and the Cybertruck card showed 3 months of Full Self-Driving (Supervised) instead, still marked “Premium AWD & Cyberbeast”. We have no copy from inside March, so we can't name the day. Tesla's written terms moved first: the Feb 15, 2026 copy of the US Refer and Earn page still listed Model S and Model X as qualifying products; the version headed “Updated February 24, 2026” lists only Model 3, Model Y, Cybertruck and Tesla-installed solar panels. If you ordered an S or X through a US referral in that window and the benefit is in question, those are the dates to quote to Tesla.

United Kingdom and Germany: gone on Jun 16, 2026

Europe held on longer, with a cash figure instead of an FSD trial. The UK page showed “Model X £500 Off” and “Model S £500 Off” on its Jun 14, 2026 copy; Germany's showed “500 € Rabatt” on both on Jun 15 (and had since at least Apr 24). Copies of both pages from Jun 16 show only Model Y and Model 3, with the same benefit as before: 650 free Supercharging miles in the UK, 1,000 free Supercharging km in Germany. The inventory link lost its “or £500 / 500 € off” wording at the same time. Tesla's UK terms lag the page: the Jun 12, 2026 copy (headed “Updated June 4, 2025”) still names Model S and Model X as qualifying products.

Taiwan and South Korea

Taiwan is the odd one: two months after the last car was built, its page still put a figure on both. The archive has no Taiwanese copy after Jul 10, 2026, so we can't tell you whether that's still true today. Korea's page is a different case. It lists all four cars, but its own notice says the referral program there gave its last benefits in June 2025. A card on that page means nothing about a benefit.

What a card for a discontinued car means

Less than it looks like. The card is a list entry on a page Tesla doesn't update in step with production. It doesn't mean you can custom order the car; Tesla has said custom orders ended. It doesn't mean a new one is in stock where you live; that depends on what was left. And in the US, Canada, the UK and Germany it no longer appears at all, so a screenshot from before those dates says nothing about today.

If a country's page still shows a card with a figure, as Taiwan's did in July, the only way to know whether the benefit applies is the order summary. Tesla's terms tie the benefit to qualifying products, and they differ by country. Tesla's US terms stopped naming Model S and Model X as qualifying products in the version updated Feb 24, 2026; the UK copy we read on Jun 12, 2026 still named them. We haven't read Taiwan's or Korea's terms.

Watch out

A leftover new Model S or Model X might still be sold as new inventory, and a used one never qualifies. Either way, look for the referral benefit in the order summary before you pay. If it isn't printed there, don't count on it.

Who this affects

  • Buyers set on a new Model S or Model X: you're shopping remaining inventory. In the US and Canada, the referral page no longer lists either car, and the US terms don't name them as qualifying. Judge the car on its own price.
  • Buyers in Taiwan: check the live referral page and your order summary. Our latest copy is from July.
  • Buyers in South Korea: Tesla's page says referral benefits ended on Jun 30, 2025, for every model, not just S and X.
  • Owners whose only Tesla is a Model S or Model X: your car is still a Tesla in your account. Tesla's terms don't say how a model that stopped qualifying affects your own link. Check that “Refer and Earn” still shows in your app.

What hasn't changed

For the cars Tesla still builds, the referral works as before. On the US page that's Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck (Oct 3, 2026); in the UK and Germany, Model 3 and Model Y. The referral must be on the order before you place it, and it covers your first qualifying Tesla product only.

What to do now

  1. Don't read a card as stock.

A Model S or Model X card on a referral page doesn't mean a car is available. Check Tesla's inventory for your country.

  2. Check the order summary, not the card.

If no referral benefit shows before you pay, there isn't one.

  3. Using an old screenshot or guide?

Check today's referral page for your country. US, Canadian, UK and German pages no longer list either car.

  4. Owner with only an S or X?

Open the app and confirm Refer and Earn is still there before you share your link.
