Europe's 2,000 km referral was a short campaign — Tesla's German page is back to 1,000 km

Plenty of pages still say a European referral gets you 2,000 km of free Supercharging. Tesla's own German page says otherwise, and has since late May.

What changed

Tesla's German referral page showed 2,000 free Supercharging kilometers on Model 3 and Model Y on Apr 24, 2026. By the May 21 copy it was back to 1,000 km, and it still read 1,000 km on Oct 1, 2026. The French and Dutch pages also showed 1,000 km on Jun 17. If you're ordering in Germany today, expect 1,000 km, not 2,000.

What Tesla's own page showed, copy by copy

Tesla doesn't keep a public history of its referral page, so we read dated copies of the German page kept by the Internet Archive. Every owner's page in a country shows the same cards; only the owner's first name changes.

Two outlets reported the increase from 1,000 km to 2,000 km in April: Drive Tesla Canada on Apr 23 and Not a Tesla App on Apr 30. Both named Germany, both said Model 3 and Model Y only, and neither gave an end date. Their reports said the referrer's side was raised the same way. Tesla's public page shows only what the buyer gets, so we can't confirm that part.

What we can and can't date

We found no German copy between Apr 24 and May 21, so the campaign ended somewhere in those four weeks. We can't name the day. The start is just as fuzzy: there's no German copy from Apr 1 to Apr 23, and the earliest report we found is Apr 23. Put honestly, the 2,000 km offer was live on Tesla's German page on Apr 24, 2026 and gone by May 21, 2026.

The 2,000 km figure itself is verified on Germany's page only. The April reports spoke of several European markets, but we haven't read a 2,000 km card on any other country's page. After the campaign, the French page showed “1 000 Kilomètres de Supercharge gratuite” and the Dutch page “1.000 Gratis Supercharging-Kilometers”, both on Jun 17, 2026.

About a Sep 16 extension

Some pages also describe a referral round “extended” to Sep 16, 2026. We found no Tesla page and no primary source for that date. Tesla's German page read 1,000 km both before and after it.

The UK never had it

The UK page counts in miles and kept its own figure through the whole period: 650 free Supercharging miles on Model 3 and Model Y, on the May 21, Jun 17 and Sep 29, 2026 copies. That's roughly the same distance as 1,000 km. If you read about a doubled European reward, it didn't reach UK buyers.

Who this affects

  • Buyers ordering in Germany now: the card shows 1,000 free Supercharging km on Model 3 and Model Y (Oct 1, 2026). That's what you should expect.
  • Buyers in France or the Netherlands: 1,000 km on the Jun 17, 2026 copies. We haven't read a newer copy of either page that shows a figure, so check the card before you order.
  • Buyers in other European countries: not verified for your country yet — check what the Tesla page shows before you order.
  • Buyers who ordered in late April or May 2026 and expected 2,000 km: the benefit is whatever Tesla applied to your order. If you think it's wrong, ask Tesla with your order date and, if you kept one, a screenshot of the referral page as you saw it.

What hasn't changed

The benefit is still Model 3 and Model Y only on the German page. The referral still has to be on your order before you place it. It's still for your first qualifying Tesla product. And if the owner whose link you open has reached 10 referrals this calendar year, you get nothing, whatever the card says.

What to do now

  1. Expect 1,000 km in Germany, not 2,000.

That's what Tesla's German page showed on Oct 1, 2026.

  2. Read your own country's card before you configure.

Figures differ by country, and we haven't verified every European country.

  3. Ignore end dates you can't trace to Tesla.

We found no primary source for a Sep 16 extension.
